About this app

Brief is a complication and tile for Wear OS that shows the one thing worth knowing right now — what's playing, an alert from an app you picked, your next event, a low phone battery, the weather, or a reminder you set. When nothing needs you, it shows the date. Think of it as an at-a-glance card that lives in a complication slot on the watch face you already wear.

WHAT IT SHOWS
• 🎵 Now Playing — track, artist and a progress ring; tap to play or pause (optional)
• 💬 Notifications — an alert from the apps you choose, mirrored on your wrist and cleared the moment you dismiss it on your phone. Only the apps you pick; every other app is ignored.
• 🗓️ Calendar — your next event with a live countdown. Keeping meetings private? Mask every title to a simple "Busy".
• 🔋 Low phone battery — when your phone drops to the level you set, your watch says so
• 🌦️ Weather — current conditions, feels-like, and a heads-up before rain. Refreshes quietly in the background so your watch is always current — no need to open the app.
• 🔔 Reminders — your own nudges, like "Meds" or "Stand up", on the schedule you set; tap to mark one done
• 📅 Default — the date, your own text, or nothing at all

YOU SET THE ORDER
Brief shows one source at a time, and you decide which comes first. Drag to reorder, switch a source off, give each one its own active hours, and tune the details from your phone: how early an event appears, which calendars count, which apps can reach your wrist, temperature units, location, and more.

GETTING STARTED
1. Install Brief on your phone, then pick your sources and their order.
2. Long-press your watch face, edit its complications, and choose Brief. It fits any watch face with a complication slot, on any watch running Wear OS 4 or newer — Pixel Watch, Galaxy Watch and the rest.
3. Prefer a tile? Add Brief from your watch's tile carousel.
4. Want the same glance on a home screen? Add the Brief widget on your phone — and, on Wear OS 7, the matching watch widget.

BUILT FOR WEAR OS
Native complications (ranged, short text and long text), a Material 3 tile, and handcrafted animations that feel at home on the watch. I recommend the long-text slot.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Free, with no account, no sign-up, no ads and no analytics. Your calendar, reminders and settings never leave your devices — your phone does the work and sends only what's showing to your watch. Turn on the Notifications source and Brief reads notifications on your phone from the apps you pick — only those — and mirrors the one that's showing to your watch; nothing is stored or uploaded. The one thing that does leave your devices: to fetch weather, an approximate location (rounded to ~1 km) is sent to Open-Meteo, a privacy-friendly forecast service that needs no API key. Prefer not to? Set a manual location instead. Tips are optional and unlock nothing.

EASY ON BATTERY
Brief updates when something changes instead of polling non-stop, and eases off when your phone runs low.

Ideas or issues? Send feedback right from the app's settings — I read every message.
One complication for any Wear OS watch face. Calendar, weather, music, alerts.

Thanks, Osman! Glad Brief earned a slot on your watch face. If there's a source or setting you'd like to see next, Settings → Send feedback in the app comes straight to me. — Enrique
