Even though several of my Android weather apps could provide lightning notification, I prefer this lightweight app as my singular lightning notifier. I choose not to run my weather apps with their notifications enabled. Such notifications from weather apps in addition to my location enabled are unnecessarily demanding of my battery. This app is accurate, dependable, and very easy on my battery and other system resources. It serves flawlessly its intended purpose for this ham radio operator.

Pros, I really like the possibility of notifications on the phone when strikes are detected within a certain radius. Cons, lots of strikes doesn't show up on the map at all and definitely not in real time, it's also very annoying that when you zoom out it gathers a certain number of strikes in a bubble, which makes it impossible to decipher which exact direction the strikes have had and subsequently determine most likely direction it's taking onwards.

Latest version is not very good. Opened the app because there was lighting and thunder overhead above my home in Nova Scotia. The app showed "No lightning nearby". Also, there was no lightning showing within 100 miles. I have been using this app for several years without any issues. That seems to have changed.
