About this app

A wellbeing program for a calmer gut.

Nerva is a gut-brain program for people who want to feel more relaxed in their gut and live more comfortably day to day. Through short guided audio sessions, you build a relaxation routine that supports a calmer gut-brain connection.

Many of our members are adults who have been diagnosed by a doctor with conditions like IBS or other gut-brain conditions, and who are looking for a gentle, drug-free practice they can build alongside their healthcare provider's care. Nerva does not replace medical care, diagnose any condition, or claim to treat or cure any disease. It is a wellbeing app.

About the gut-brain connection
The gut and brain are in constant conversation. When life gets stressful, that conversation can become noisy and your gut can feel more reactive. Calming the nervous system through daily mind-body practice is one way many people find a more comfortable rhythm with their gut.
Nerva is built around this idea. Each day, you get a short guided audio session to help you relax, settle the nervous system, and build a gentle daily habit.

How Nerva works
A six-week structured program of daily guided audio sessions, around 15 minutes each. The program adapts to your preferences and progress.

What you get:
- Daily 15-minute guided audio sessions for relaxation
- A library of in-the-moment calming exercises for when you feel uneasy
- A long-term practice library to keep your routine going after the program
- AI-assisted personalisation that adapts the program to you
- Educational content about the gut-brain connection
- Real human customer support, not bots

Built by a researcher
Nerva was co-founded by Dr. Simone Peters, a gut-brain researcher at Monash University, working with a team of clinicians, dietitians, and researchers. Many of us live with gut sensitivity ourselves, and we built Nerva as the daily wellbeing routine we wished we had.

Pros: Kinda like guided meditation, relaxing. Based on research. Cons: I don't know if it's effective, there's only a 7 day free trial though it takes a month+ to find out if it works for you, and then it's $200 for a year as the only payment plan. If there was a monthly payment plan or a longer trial I would probably try it out. Only 1 session a day is unlocked if you go into the app and start the session, so if you miss a day during your free trial, or start one after midnight, you're SOL.

its a great app. It's my first week so I can't say if it works already but app is made in a very easy, clear way. simple to use. my personal preference would be to have gentle music playing in the background during hypnotherapy session. but without it is nice too. the voice is very pleasant to listen and is relaxing. the reading section is handy as you can either read it or listen to the reading.i subscribed for year. would prefer to have option to pay for 6weeks first and then decide...

Nerva is very effective in helping relieve my symptoms and reduce stress. My feedback is about the app, not the program itself. 1. A button which allows you to skip forward or backward by 10 seconds, or a conventional time tracker in a straight line, would make it much easier to navigate the hypnotherapy sessions. I find the circular time tracker really difficult to use. 2. The daily reminders don't correspond to the session I'm up to - this is confusing. Other than that it's a great app. 😊
